Jim Chatto commenced his career in the Hunter Valley, and then travelled widely to gain further vineyard and winery management experience, before reuniting with Greg Silkman in First Creek's substantial winemaking and bottling operation which offered greater scope for the development of the Chatto label.

Recently, Jim's career shifted from contract winemaking, and he has been retained as a consultant to work with Greg Silkman to assist the crafting of wines of distinction, which will now be released under the First Creek Winemakers Reserve series.
